Eeek an update

Well i kinda totally forgot I even made a blog but I'm back!

I changed my hair color back to its natural black, I'm still figuring out how to dress/makeup-ify the new/old me. I have had odd colord hair (copper, pink, aqua, mint, honey) for the last 7 years so its feel really weird. My favorute picture, I think it really changes my whole look. Anyway I've been working on some historical projects (not compleatly historically accurate) for fun. I'm really liking period hand sewing it goes a lot faster than I thought it would, now I just need to find an occasion to wear such fancies.
The back of my robe a la francaise.

Next project is a robe volante in the style of the reclining lady in de Troy's La Declaration d'Amour (1725)

Onto more wearable if no less fantastical fare. I made a dress inspired by the Italian Ren. not a direct copy (obv. its lolified) but more the feel and gerneral cut of it. I really love this fabric, I got it from the hancocks remnant bin, I have a thing for this tone of green/gold I have way to much of it but its so lush looking and just screams buy me!! when ever I see it :)

It has spriral lacing up the front and full sleeves with lacing rings for ladder lacing (not done up properly in these photos because it don't have ribbon for it yet) underneath it is a shirt that has been sitting in my closet forever and I've never worn, so yay for finally having a use for it!

Last up is a quick snap of an outfit I wore a few weeks ago. i think I might have posted it before but i don't care I love love love this dress. It has sand castles and sea horse gaurds and all manner of cute sealife. The green thing in my hand is an otter pop, little kid nostalgia ftw! I can always manage to look like a compleate fool in pictures XD

Rainrain please stay!

Tonight has had great rainshowers. I went out and played in puddles and got mud between by toes. This is the first time I've lived somewhere I can enjoy the rain, like have proper mud and see all the green things and birds after it stops.

Anyway so this isn't just about percipitation here is a look back at some of my older outfits.
I mostly dress lolita (the fashion). Mainly classic and 'old' sweet styles, the doll like look of lolita is what got me into the style in the first place so that where I take a lot of inspiration but I take detours into everything from super-deco-sweet to mili-loli and occasionally gothic.

From my birthday last year ^
Pink and strawberry and silly all over

This fabric is a pattern of dots and the blue bits are quails, I have no clue where or when I got it ;)

Cliche! Eating while wearing a silverware print I think this is the only skirt I have that has rickrack on it, odd because I love rickrack it's just so kitch-y and wonderful.

This is one of my favorite outfits, its perfect for fall. The jacket is an odd green gold weave/pattern and it closes up the front with hooks and eyes.

A little theme rawr rawr dino prints, I had not enough of either fabric so I put them together.

A very occasional boystyle picture, I was moving boxes that day so I decided to wear something more 'practical'.
All of these photos are at least 5 months old, hopefully I will remember to take pics of what I wear more often :)

Bread and Blueberries

Yesterday I made bread, why does one always get the cooking bug when its hot out? Anyway here is the finished product with fresh blue berries. They were on sale so I got 2lbs of them I see scones in my future :)

This is what I wore yesterday. A little girl at the market asked her mother as I passed by 'why she couldn't wear her princess outfit to the store if I could.

The produce guys always say hi to me, they seem to be the nicest people in the store (no matter which one) maybe because they get to work around pretty food all day, with all the green and yummy smells.

I need to wear this shirt more often, it gets pushed to the back of my closet and overlooked. Its a rich cream color and has three vintage button. The fun thing about those buttons is that they all match yet they came to me from three diffrent sources (from estate sales and such). The chain at my hip has a pendant with a picture of Alice Liddel (I think that's her name) on who alice in wonderland was inspired by/based on. I'm not a big wonderland fan but I found the picture in a nat geo and knew I had to use it.

My hair is pink again, last week it was tawny carmel colored and a few weeks before that aqua blue. I figure I won't be able to have crazy colors in my hair forever so I might as well play with it now. I have a love of crazy hair accesories at the moment, in the picture I have a big flower and a brightly colored bird.

I look a touch compressed in this picture, I'm actually fairly tall in real life. It also make everthing so green! I live in the desert but there is a garden in the yard. A Garden which has a life of its own, nothing is growing in its proper place and weeds are everwhere but it's like a tiny oasis.

Photo Sweets

I love sweets, I could spend everyday eating them and never be unhappy about it. So why not start of this whole blog-y thing with food (ok the first post was about a dog but lets not rest our minds to long on that).

I adore creampuffs because they are very simple to make and can be served in a million diffrent ways. The one above has lemon pastry creme inside along with a gaggle of strwberries. For bastille day I made them with chantilly cream and blackberries.

Yawning in the wind

My dog just yawned into the fan.
It's wickedly hot out today and the fans have been working overtime. Why this would inspire my puppy to dry his tounge and teeth in the breeze of a fan I'm not sure why. But he did and it was one of the silliest things. I'd like to think he was imagning himself on the bow of a ship barking at wave breaking agaist the side, but more likely he was tierd and to lazy to move. ah well it's a cute idea, pets rarely cooperate for whimsical visions.
